Meet Kayla, A Wisconsin Marriage
and Family Therapist
Therapy for people struggling with trauma throughout Wisconsin.
Kayla Easland, MFT-IT, LPC-IT
Hi, I’m Kayla. I’m a dually licensed therapist who works with individuals throughout Wisconsin. I am relatable, compassionate, authentic and honest. Drawing from my education with my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and personal experiences in my own healing and therapy journey, my goal is to help you get back to being excited about your life.
My journey to becoming a therapist and opening WoodFire Counseling
After graduating from UW-Madison with my bachelor’s degree, I became a police officer for three years. This experience was undeniably eye-opening, however also very difficult mentally and emotionally. I left this career on my own healing journey to heal trauma wounds that began early on in my life. This lead me to pursue my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy to become a therapist to help others heal from trauma and realize their true potential.
I bring personal experience to my work as a therapist for trauma.
I am passionate about helping people heal from past wounds and limiting beliefs. Trauma grabs ahold of us and keeps us living in the past. Our work together is about getting you to a place where you not only experience the present moment, but feel it.
I am passionate about helping Wisconsinites overcome trauma.
In our current society we are constantly being sent messages about what we should think, how we should behave, or how we should feel. What we aren’t taught is that we should listen into ourselves. We have the answers within us. Unprocessed trauma limit us from hearing that inner guidance.

Our therapeutic relationship is at the forefront of my practice. For that reason, I find a person-centered approach using interpersonal process to be very effective in working with my clients. I utilize an emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach when working with couples while allows us to bring effective communication strategies into session to be transferred outside of session.
