FAQs

  • Consultations are hosted over the phone or a virtual platform. Typically, a consultation lasts about 15 minutes. This is an opportunity for both of us to get to know each other and assess if we are a good fit.

I know the process of (re-)starting therapy can be overwhelming. I start all consultations with a brief introduction and walk you through a handful of questions that I find helpful to ask prospective clients. Then, I make sure to carve out space for any questions you might have for me.

Each consultation ends with a choice to either take time and think things over or schedule a first appointment.

  • In our first session we will start by getting to know eachother, discussing what brings you to therapy, and your goals. We will also go over informed consent, confidentiality and any questions that you may have.

  • There is no straight answer to this, which I know might be unhelpful to hear. This type of work takes time and can be intensive. Typically, clients begin with more frequent sessions and how often we meet drops off over the course of time. I find most of my clients are involved in therapy for at least six months. Eventually, it is my hope for all of my clients to feel ready to do the work on their own or to take a pause from therapy.

If you’re coming to therapy wanting to be finished in 4-6 sessions, we might not be the best fit, and that is okay. I am more than happy to provide you with referrals to other providers that might be a better fit.

  • Individual session fee is $150.

    Couples session fee is $200.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes. Likely, we will meet week for the first month and then decide if we want to continue to meet weekly or bi-weekly.

  • I do not accept insurance, and I do this with intention. Insurance companies require a formal diagnosis and can dictate the number of sessions a client can meet with a therapist. They will also have permanent access to your mental health information. When we choose to opt out of insurance networks, we have greater flexibility in determining a course of treatment that works for you.

If you are concerned about affording therapy, please reach out! As an insurance “workaround,” for clients with Out of Network benefits, I am happy to provide a Superbill. Additionally, I do offer a sliding scale and am happy to discuss this in greater detail with prospective clients.

  • My sessions are 100% virtual allowing you to be in your safe space.

  • I require that clients cancel 48 hours in advance. You will be responsible for the entire fee if you provide less than 48 hours notice for cancelation. This is necessary as I reserve the time solely for you.

  • Some insurance plans are able to offer partial and even full reimbursement for clients paying out-of-pocket for healthcare services. To receive reimbursement, insurance plans require clients to submit a Superbill, which is essentially a specific type of invoice. I am more than happy to provide Superbills to clients at anytime.
